Two Harker students to perform at Carnegie Hall

Two Harker students are heading to New York City to perform at Carnegie Hall. Wanke Li, grade 9, was chosen to perform with the Honors String Orchestra as part of the High School Honors Performance Series on Feb. 10. Li, a violinist, has been studying music for 10 years and is also a member of the San Jose Youth Symphony’s Philharmonic Orchestra. She will perform with other young musicians from around the world.

Third grader Aevum Mistry placed second in the We Sing Pop! International Song Competition, held by American Protégé, which stages a variety of international music competitions every year. Contestants apply by creating videos of their performances of modern pop songs. As a second place winner, Mistry has been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in May.
