On May 24, third grader Neev Banerjee-Majumder finished as a semifinalist in third grade category at both the National Science Bee and National Mathematics Bee, in Orlando, Fla., organized by International Academic Competitions. Banerjee-Majumder finished 14th among the 110 national qualifiers in the science bee, and 12th out 90 national qualifiers in the mathematics bee. Roughly 100-150 students were chosen as national finalists out of thousands who took a regional qualifying exam.
