Last weekend, junior Kayvion Cruz and Demitri Ajlouny ’26 performed as members of the hip-hop dance group Syndikidz at an International Dance League (IDL) competition in Los Angeles, helping the group take third place in the junior division. Cruz is currently a member of the upper school dance squad Kinetic Krew, of which Ajlouny was also a member while attending Harker. Formed in 2025, the IDL features six professional dance crews from across the world as well as Community Division events with junior and adult teams. Community Division teams are invited to perform at IDL events after a competitive application process, and Syndikidz was one of only six teams selected to appear. “It is a huge opportunity, and they are sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the industry,” said upper school dance teacher Rachelle Haun.
