Senior crowned National Debate Coaches Association champion, Harker sets new record

Senior Ansh Sheth was crowned the tournament champion and top speaker and won of the award for the most outstanding record for the year last month at the National Debate Coaches Association Championship, held April 12-15 at the University of Indiana. This event is one of the two most elite Lincoln Douglas championships (the other being the Tournament of Champions).  This was the fourth year in a row that Harker has won this tournament, which is a new national record. In addition to Ansh, several other Harker students did very well. Senior Panav Gogte was named second speaker, senior Kabir Buch third, sophomore Sofia Shah fifth, sophomore Roshan Amurthur eighth, sophomore Angelina Antony 11th and frosh Nikhil Bawa 13th. These award-winning speakers, as well as frosh Sid Daswani, also reached elimination rounds.
