Office Communication recognized with five MarCom Awards

In October, five projects by Harker’s Office of Communication received recognition from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professional’s (AMCP) annual MarCom Awards. Judges in these awards are industry professionals who award work that serves as a global benchmark of excellence among marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, public relations firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers, reviewing around 6,000 print and digital entries each year. Earning the top platinum award were the fall/winter 2025 and spring/summer 2025 issues of the Harker Magazine (cover photo of spring/summer 2025 issue pictured); gold awards were given for the “Following the Light” photo spread in the spring/summer 2025 Harker Magazine and for the 2006 annual giving fundraising pennant piece; and honorable mentions were given for the latest performing arts program marketing video and the “Magic Happens at Harker” ad campaign.

Previously, in July, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) awarded the “Magic Happens at Harker” marketing campaign a silver Circle of Excellence Award, presented to schools for exceptional work in advancement, marketing and alumni relations. Circle of Excellence entries are judged alongside member colleges, universities and other independent schools worldwide.

Office of Communication contributors to these award-winning projects were Pam Dickinson, director; Catherine Snider, assistant director/magazine editor; Sophie Ormond, photographer and photo desk editor/magazine photo editor; Desiree Mitchell, then-marketing manager; Eric Marten, multimedia production manager/videographer; and Jenny Sandrof, owner of Blue Heron Design Group and 20+ year Harker freelancer, who designed all the print pieces.
