Last week, first grader Jolene Choi won a gold medal in at the USA Taekwondo West Regionals Championships in Salt Lake City, in the Tiger category for designated poomsae (“forms)” for competitors aged 8-9, competing against top contestants in the western United States. Choi began practicing taekwondo at age 5 and has been a competitor since August of last year.
