Last month, rising eighth grader Sophie Shen qualified for the USA Table Tennis Junior National Team in the U13 category. Shen qualified as one of the top players in her category following a two-part series of trials. As a member of the national team, Shen is now eligible to represent the United States at international tournaments for the rest of the year. The top four players from the team will go on to compete at the International Table Tennis Federation Pan Am Youth Championships, scheduled to be held in August in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
