The 23rd annual Diana Nichols Harker Math Invitational for grades 6-8, held Sat., March 9 was a highly successful event with a record 20 schools and 405 contestants taking part in the individual and team contests. There were 70 competing and 2 non-competing teams for the team contest.
The results are as follows:
This year’s estimation contest winner was Mihir Suria from Cabrillo Middle School, was the winner of the estimations whose guess of 9,835 pixels was the closest to the correct answer of 9,878 pixels for the number of pixels in the white portion of the HMI logo.
Scores for individual winners have been placed in parentheses with the total from the standard score (out of 20) followed by any bonus points. All ties were broken according to the difficulty level of the questions.
