Today, the National Merit Scholarship Corp. announced the semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. Seventy-one Harker seniors were among those named in the announcement, representing 36 percent of the Class of 2025 and breaking the previous record of 59 students. Semifinalists comprise less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors and were selected based on their performance on the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Qualifying Test. They are eligible to become finalists after an application process.
