Eighth graders Faye Gu, Angela Li, Chelsea Liu and Cynthia Zhang – known collectively as The Duggets – recently became just one of 500 teams (out of more than 10,000) to qualify for the VEX Robotics World Championships after winning the Build Award last month at the Region 2 VEX V5 Middle School Championship in Milpitas, Calif. The Build Award is given to the team whose robot demonstrates exemplary construction and attention to safety and detail. The World Championships are set to take place May 9-11 in Dallas. In January, The Duggets finished as tournament finalists at the Tri-Valley VEX V5 Robotics Competition.
