The upper school journalism department is up for two top awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, the organization announced last week. “The Winged Post,” the upper school student newspaper, was named a finalist in the High School Print News category, and the upper school student news website, Harker Aquila, is a finalist in the High School Digital News Category. Each outlet is now eligible to win a Silver or Gold Crown at the CSPA Annual Spring Convention in March.
Crown Awards are the top honors offered to student print and digital publications by the CSPA, awarded by a panel of judges comparing entries of similar ages and experience levels.
Harker publications have received 15 Crown Awards since the 2008-09 school year, including a record four awards in 2022.
