Nine upper school musicians were recently named members of California all-state music groups and will perform in Sacramento in January at the California All-State Music Education Conference. Senior Wendy Liu, junior Tanisha Vaish and sophomores Siddhant Gaur, Anna Li and Niyati Ramanathan successfully auditioned for California All-State Honor Choirs, members of which are selected by the California Choral Directors Association. Liu and Guar will perform with the High School SATB (Soprano-Alto-Tenor-Bass) choir, and Ramanathan and Vaish with the High School SSAA (Soprano-Soprano-Alto-Alto) choir.

Meanwhile, senior Eric Dong (clarinet), juniors Hanz Baek (violin) and David Tang (viola) and frosh Haniel Baek (cello) were accepted to 2026 California All-State Ensembles, chosen by the California Band Directors Association. Siblings Hanz and Haniel along with Tang are members of the High School String Orchestra, while Eric Dong was accepted to the High School Wind Symphony.
