Last weekend, the Harker Dance Company and Kinetic Krew participated in a dance camp hosted by the United Spirit Association. The dancers spent six to eight hours each day learning new techniques and drills, and gave an informal performance for families and alums. Their effort and talent impressed the United Spirit Association staff, who awarded both groups the highest-possible rating of Superior. Kinetic Krew’s positive energy and enthusiasm during the camp also earned it the Spirit Stick award. Additionally, seniors Selina Chen, Luke Mehta, Julie Shi, Kai Stinson and Cecilia Yang and juniors Maya Affaki, Yasmin Sudarsanam and Arthur Wu all qualified for the association’s All-American program, giving them the opportunity to perform in Walt Disney World’s Thanksgiving parade, Hawaii’s Pearl Harbor Parade and at London’s New Year’s Day Parade.
