As part of community service work he began in 2020, Neel Kumar, grade 10, volunteers to lead coding classes and STEM workshops at local middle schools through a collaboration with his local YMCA. Kumar has spent the last few years helping his community by teaching local children via Zoom sessions and a YouTube channel where the recorded sessions can be viewed. He began teaching online during the COVID-19 pandemic and also has raised thousands of dollars for the nonprofit child sponsorship organization Children International.
