Sixth grader Ethan Guo won a gold metal in the Under 12 Blitz at the 2025 FIDE World Cadet & Youth Rapid & Blitz Championships chess tournament, held last month in Rhodes, Greece. He also secured a bronze medal in the Under 12 rapid event with a score of 8.5 out of 11.  More than 430 competitors representing 48 countries were present at the event. Guo has collected several chess accolades since 2023, including a silver medal at the 2024 Pan-American Youth Chess Championships and a silver at the 2023 FIDE World Cadets Chess Championships.
