Last month, senior Saahira Dayal was named a USA Fencing High School All-American, identifying her as one of the country’s best young fencers. Daayal has nurtured an interest in fencing since she was a small child. “I still remember my first set of fencing gear being directly shipped from France,” she recalled. She has been fencing competitively across the country for about seven years in the foil and epee disciplines.
