Last week, Harker students won a record 286 regional awards (112 for art and 174 for writing) in the 2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Contest, organized by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. This includes 29 art and 37 writing Gold Key awards, the winners of which are eligible for a National Award. Those named National Medalists will be invited to attend the National Ceremony in New York City.
Founded in 1923, the Art & Writing Awards recognize the works of young people in the visual and literary arts. It is one of the longest-running and most prestigious arts awards programs for teens in the country.
