Harker is headed to the finals of the Wharton Global High School Investment Competition! The team of ninth graders Nicole Dean, Laya Sunkara, Cynthia Wang, Chelsea Xie and Ellie Zhou — known collectively as “Finance Bros” — was selected from 50 semifinalist teams. They will head to the Wharton School’s campus in Philadelphia later this month, where they will present their investment strategies to a panel of industry judges. Best of luck!

Last week, ninth graders Nicole Dean, Laya Sunkara, Cynthia Wang, Chelsea Xie and Ellie Zhou reached the semifinals of the 2024 Wharton Global High School Investment Competition, making them one of the top 50 teams in a competition that included more than 1,600 teams. The team, led by Zhou and advised by upper school economics teacher Dean Lizardo, has been tasked with preparing a video for the next stage of the competition. The Wharton Global Investment Competition is a stock market simulation game in which teams create a financial plan and investment portfolio for a potential client.
