Eagle Update: Girls basketball enjoys busy, successful winter break

Girls basketball was quite busy over the break, going 6-1 and placing second in the North Salinas Tournament, which also saw senior Claire Yi and sophomore Jillian Chen named to the All-Tournament Team. The girls are now 6-4 overall as they prepare to face Milpitas and Presentation this week.

Meanwhile, boys basketball went 1-3 during the break, defeating Greenfield 76-57. Senior captain Caden Ruan has been leading the way for the team with a 54% shooting percentage over the last three games. He also scored 17 points against Greenfield on 8 out of 14 shooting and 12 points against Capuchino shooting 5 of 6. The JV squad went 3-1 over the break and is now 8-3 overall. Support the boys this week at the Athletic Center tonight vs. UPA and Thursday vs. Lincoln.

Boys soccer tied Silver Creek 2-2 on Dec. 19 and now stands at 1-2-1 overall, as the season resumes this week at Pinewood Wednesday and at King’s Academy Friday.

Girls Soccer is now 3-3 overall after falling to Wilcox over the break. The team hosts Jefferson Tuesday and travels to Mills on Thursday.
