Today, ABC’s “Good Morning America” aired a segment on parents learning how to support their LGBTQ+ children. The three-minute segment was filmed at Harker’s upper school campus and features interviews with Harker students, as well as students from other Bay Area schools, and their parents. Students discuss their own experiences of finding acceptance in their communities, while their parents talk about the process of learning about their children’s lives as queer people. The segment also touched upon the importance of finding support in online communities.
