Middle school golf enthusiasts Julie and Justin Hu – grades 7 and 8, respectively – had a productive summer, traveling both domestically and abroad for tournaments. Notable results included Julie’s second place finish in the Girls 11 category at the U.S. Kids European Championship in Scotland, followed by first place at the U.S. Kids Washington State Championship and second at the U.S. Kids Northern California Championship. At the U.S. Kids World Championship in North Carolina, she placed 11th in her category out of more than 100 players.
Meanwhile, Justin golfed 8 under par to win the Northern California Regional of the Notah Begay III Jr. Golf Championship in the Boys 12-13 category, which qualified him to continue to the next stage of the tournament, set to take place in Louisiana in November. Justin also placed 11th in the 15th annual FCG Callaway Junior World Championship and third in the U.S. Kids Northern California Invitational, both in the Boys 13-14 category.
