Earlier this month, lower school students helped raise nearly $37,000 for the American Heart Association at this year’s Kids Heart Challenge. Students took part in a variety of physical activities to promote heart-healthy lifestyles, including jumping rope, vaulting off of trampolines and playing basketball. During the lead-up to the event, a total of 31 students completed Finn’s Mission, a series of online milestones to teach their friends and family about heart health, CPR and signs of stroke. 37 families also learned how to administer CPR.
Harker began taking part in the Kids Heart Challenge in 2000, when it was known as Jump Rope for Heart. To date, the effort has raised more than $300,000 to benefit the American Heart Association.
