2026 Cancer Walk raises more than $7k for Camp Okizu
The 2026 Cancer Walk, held March 12 at the middle school campus, attracted hundreds of community members to participate in the long-running fundraiser for Camp Okizu. This year’s event raised approximately $7,100 for the organization, which creates outdoor experiences for young people living with cancer and their families. Since the first Cancer Walk in 2007, the total raised to date has reached almost $150,000. Participants circled the middle school field, which, per tradition, was decorated with flags containing tributes to loved ones who had died from cancer, were cancer survivors or are currently battling the disease. In addition to the walk, students, staff and faculty also purchased drinks and baked goods from volunteer-run booths and played a variety of carnival games on offer.
