All four of Harker’s upper school journalism publications – the Winged Post newspaper, the Talon yearbook, the online news website Harker Aquila and the literature and arts magazine HELM –have been named Crown Finalists by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. Each are now eligible to a Gold or Silver Crown in the CSPA’s 2025 Crown Awards, which will be presented on March 21, 2025, at CSPA’s Spring Convention. In total, 540 student publications were in consideration for Crown Awards this year, each evaluated by panels of journalism educators and professionals for “excellence demonstrated through design, photography, concept, coverage, and writing.”
