Today, three Harker seniors were named to the top 300 scholars in the 2025 Regeneron Science Talent Search, one of the country’s most prestigious science competitions. Andrew Liang, Varun Thvar and Aarush Vailaya are now eligible to become top 40 finalists, who will be announced Jan. 23. Nearly 2,500 entrants from nearly 800 high schools submitted projects for this year’s contest. Each of the 300 scholars receives $2,000, and schools receives $2,000 for each scholar named from their school. Scholars who become finalists will be flown to Washington, D.C. in March for the final stage of the competition, where more than $1.8 million in prizes will be awarded.
