Harker Math Invitational attracts nearly 330 competitors from 15 schools
Nearly 330 middle school students from 15 schools attended the 18th annual Diana Nichols Math Invitational. In addition to the 14 South Bay schools participating in the event (including Harker), Las Vegas’ Coral Academy of Science made the trip from out of state for the third consecutive year.

At the MathCounts state competition on March 31 at Stanford University, the Harker middle school team won the state MathCounts championship in a field of 35 teams and 175 students.

Four Harker upper school students and one middle school student have advanced to the third round of the USA Math Olympiad and Junior Math Olympiad, respectively.

Senior wins gold medal at Romanian Master of Mathematics competition
Senior Swapnil Garg participated in the Romanian Master of Mathematics competition, held Feb. 21-26 in Bucharest, and was one of just 10 competitors worldwide to win a gold medal.
