This week, Olivia Esparza ’19 was named as one of the inaugural fellows in the Montalvo Arts Center’s Marcus Curatorial Fellowship, an extension of Montalvo’s Lucas Artists Residency Program. During the part-time, paid fellowship, which spans two years, artists will create original works and gain unique and valuable experience working alongside other artists as well as developing an exhibition, installation or other project.
Esparza, daughter of upper school art teacher Pilar Agüero-Esparza, graduated in 2023 from Whittier College, where she studied graphic design and won the college’s Coffee Design and Marketing Competition in June 2023. She also interned at Sephora from September 2022 to August 2023.
