An estimated 600 members of the Harker community headed to the middle school campus on March 14 for the 2024 Cancer Walk. Funds raised through sales of t-shirts, baked goods and more totaled just more than $7,000 for Camp Okizu, which organizes outdoor camping activities for children living with cancer and their families. On the middle school’s field, attendees walked in a circle around a large assortment of flags, which people had marked with the names of loved ones affected by cancer. Meanwhile, others tried their hands at a variety of carnival games, enjoyed smoothies and belted out their favorite songs at the karaoke tent.
