Five Harker seniors, the most from any California school, are among the 300 Regeneron Science Talent Seach Scholars announced today by the Society for Science. Cyrus Ghane, Danika Gupta, Lily Shi, Aditya Shivakumar and Evan Zhang are eligible to become one of 40 national finalists, who are scheduled to be announced Jan. 21. If so named, they will be invited to attend the final stage of the competition in Washington, D.C. in March, where more than $1.8 million in prizes will be distributed to winners and finalists. This year’s competition received more than 2,600 applications from students in 826 high schools located in the United States, Washington, D.C., Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and 16 countries.
