On Fri., March 1, CareerConnect and business teacher Patrick Kelly held a workshop to help students enhance their networking skills and master the art of cold emailing. Kelly shared strategies for effective networking, which included setting clear objectives, being open to interaction, practicing an introductory pitch and following up with new contacts. He emphasized the significance of showing interest and understanding the challenges of others to craft effective cold emails. Participants also had the opportunity to practice their personal introduction with others at the workshop.

Outside of teaching at Harker, Patrick Kelly runs a YouTube channel called Corporis. This channel combines his love of video production and kinesiology to help students understand the human body. Combining his knowledge of business with his college education that centered around anatomy, Kelly has been able to monetize his content through his channel which has over 100k subscribers.

Cam Krause, grade 9, reflecting on the tips he learned in this presentation, commented, “This presentation really helped me, especially the cold email part.”
