On Tuesday, the annual pajama assembly was held to celebrate another successful third grade pajama and book drive. Students collected 158 pairs of pajamas and 374 books for the Pajama Program, which provides the items to children residing in shelters and temporary housing.
As in previous years, the event also included a visit from the third graders’ sophomore Eagle Buddies, who enjoyed chatting with the younger students during the assembly, as well as listening to stories read by lower school dean of students Walid Fahmy and upper division head Paul Barsky.
The pajama and book drive was established in 2007 by then-third grader Rishi Narain ’16 after he saw a TV segment about the Pajama Program hosted by Oprah Winfrey.
